The Perilla is a herbaceous plant, common in China and Japan, which is used as a vegetable in the daily diet (it is also known as “Shiso”). The chemical elements isolated in its leaves consist mainly in polyphenols (including flavonoids and anthocyanins), terpenoids, and an essential oil rich in beta-caryophyllene. The current scientific knowledge states that this plant has anti-allergic properties: in fact, it has been proven that the rosmarinic acid present in the leaves of Perilla frutescens, inhibits the seasonal allergic rhinoconjunctivitis by significantly decreasing the number of neutrophils and eosinophils, without causing side effects. Other studies focusing on the possible antioxidant effect of the plant have shown that the intake of Perilla leads to a decrease of the lipidic peroxidation. Eventually, the presence of polyphenolic compounds such as cinnamic acid derivatives, flavonoids and anthocyanins demonstrate inhibition of free radicals.
Indication
Eyerex is indicated for soothing eye redness, dry eye discomfort and ocular fatigue as well as visual stress (resulting from excessive use of a computer, exposure to strong light, and prolonged use of contact lenses).
Packaging:
Single dose option: The box is composed of 3 foil pouches, each one containing 5 monodose vials strip: each vial is 0.5 ml and is recapable.
Multi dose option: the box contains a multi-dose bottle of 10ml to be used as indicated by physician
